At Lundbergs Möbler, we work with transparent and verified climate data to make sustainable choices easier. Through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), we report our products’ environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle – from raw materials and production to use and recycling.
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a third-party reviewed environmental product declaration that reports a product’s climate and environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle.
The information is based on life cycle assessments in accordance with international standards and makes it possible to compare products in a transparent and fact-based way.
For architects, procurement professionals, and organizations, this provides a better basis for decisions in projects where sustainability, climate targets, and documentation are becoming increasingly important.
We have developed EPDs for all table families in order to report the products’ climate impact – from cradle to grave.
By measuring emissions across the entire life cycle, we gain a clearer understanding of where impacts occur and where improvements can be made over time.
This work is an important part of our ambition to develop furniture with a long service life, high quality, and reduced climate impact.
The EPDs help us work more data-driven with material choices, design, transportation, and product development.
They also enable our customers to make more informed decisions in projects where climate data and documentation are requested.
With increased transparency, better conditions are created for circular ways of working and continuous improvements.
Our EPDs are registered according to international standards and published via EPD International.
This means that the climate data is verified by an independent third party and follows established life cycle assessment methods.
EPDs and Möbelfakta serve different purposes but complement each other.
While Möbelfakta ensures requirements within quality, environment, and social responsibility, EPDs focus on transparent reporting of climate impact throughout the product’s entire life cycle.
Together, they provide a better basis for decisions for sustainable public environments.
In our Table School, we explain more about how Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) work, how climate impact is measured, and why transparent climate data is becoming increasingly important in the public environments of the future.
